Professional Development Supports Funds 2026-2027 Calendar

Please coordinate any external deadlines with the PDS deadlines and pay close attention to the deadline dates and notification dates when preparing your application. Students are not required to already be accepted into conferences, training activities, or research archives before applying, so students should apply as early as possible. Applicants may always decline the PDS funds after they are approved.

Applicants may expect to receive an email notification on the notification dates listed below. They will generally not receive any notifications before the posted dates.

Students may either (1) apply before the start of the event or (2) apply after the event has concluded during the posted cycles. Funds are not guaranteed in all circumstances, however, so please do not incur any costs unless you are able to cover the full cost of the conference/training/research activity in cases where you may receive no funding or partial funding. If you are applying for an event that has already concluded, it must have taken place on or after 8/1/2026 and subject to normal PDS deadlines for the year. If the conference, research, or training activity is slated to begin after your projected graduation date, it is not eligible for PDS funding.

PLEASE NOTE: If you do not receive an approval/decline email by the notification date, the most likely reason is that the application is incomplete. You must contact our office at LGS.profdev@emory.edu within two weeks of the notification date. If we do not receive any communication from the applicant, the application will be declined. This does not apply to competitive applications; incomplete applications for competitive cycles will automatically be removed from consideration. 

¹ Students graduating in Fall 2026 are not eligible to apply during this cycle and any cycles thereafter.

² Students graduating in Spring 2027 are not eligible to apply during this cycle and any cycles thereafter.

³ Students graduating in Summer 2027 are not eligible to apply during this cycle.

PLEASE NOTE:

Any conference, training, or research activity that is scheduled to begin after the student’s projected graduation date is not eligible for PDS funding. They may not apply in advance if the event takes place after the graduation date.

For example, if the student is graduating in May 2027, they may not apply to receive funding for a conference that is scheduled to take place in July 2027 at any point in the year.
